Wet n Wild Trip - Plus Photo Shoot

A friend asked me a few months ago to be in a photo shoot for Wet n Wild, and she would get us season passes for our time. Well, we already had passes, and I wasn't sure I wanted to be in a photo shoot... though the kids were super excited about it. We decided that they would catch us on a trip to the water park another time and do some photos for social media. Well, I forgot.

We went to the park and we say Lacy out front with a camera crew. She said, "Oh perfect, you can be in our shoot today. Are you cute?" Well, we weren't at our best, that's for sure. Penelope was getting over a case of hives due to an allergic reaction to the penicillin she took with a recent bout of strep throat that four of us had... Miles needed a haircut desperately, and Henry fell down and was super grouchy. But the kids were game, so we let them follow us around for a few hours and take photos/video.

Wet N Wild - Open for the Season

We took our first trip to Wet n Wild this season - the weather was actually a bit chilly, but that won't last long.

Miles's Award Ceremony

This award ceremony was less ceremony and more award - we were 5 minutes late and missed the whole thing. Miles was waiting with his awards when we walked up - and we took a few photos, hung out for a second and that was that. Miles received several fun awards, but I especially liked the Nerds Award, for good grades all year.

Last Day of School!

Schools out!! We took the kids out to lunch after the half day and I noticed the car was slow to start... and sure enough, after our lunch, the van wouldn't start at all. A walk across the parking lot to WalMart later, we were on our way. I was very glad Matt was with us.

Claire's Fourth Grade Award Ceremony

Claire loved having Ms. Katz this year - she was a fun but strict teacher, a good combo. Claire received highest honors and had the highest reading level in her class. Math is not her favorite but she is getting better at it - we just need to practice this summer cause I hear fifth grade math starts to get pretty difficult. 

Penelope's Done with Preschool!

Penelope wanted to make sure we knew that she meant she wanted to be an animal doctor, a veterinarian. Penelope did great with with preschool this year, four days a week for about 2.5 hours a day. I think the main thing she learned was being part of a classroom and following the schedule - her letters and numbers were already strong, but she is already starting to read and knows quite a few sight words. She is definitely ready for kinder!
