Easter Pics at Floyd Lamb Park

New pictures - my favorite thing! It makes me so happy to get them back, but I even like the whole process of picking out clothes and choosing the location. We went out to Floyd Lamb Park, one of the few older Vegas parks with ponds and huge trees and ducks/fish/geese/peacocks everywhere! The trees were blooming and there was this cool cotton stuff in the air that the kids, especially Miles, kept chasing. It was like herding cats there for awhile... We were there for both Easter pics and Henry's one-year pictures - this year has flown by!

Penelope is by far my most uncooperative child for photos but after some bribing followed by threats of losing any promised treats or rewards for good behavior, I get a "FINE" out of her and she shows her face for a few shots.

That said, we got some great photos - I just love these faces!!

Soccer Mom Again!

We are back! After a nice year long break from soccer, the kids wanted to play again. Soccer practice 2-3 times per week (Miles has an optional second practice...) plus games... it's gonna be crazy but hopefully in a few weeks Matt can start coming to games too. The kids are super excited to be playing again and their coaches seem nice - a little exercise never hurt anyone either, so it's good for us all around.

Easter at Mema's

You can sense the urgency! Mema's golden egg Easter egg hunt is as fun as it is competitive :) At least for my kiddos!

Ward Easter Egg Hunt

It was a super windy, chilly day (Vegas weather is so weird!) but we made the drive down to the park for an Easter egg hunt and breakfast. Kids had fun of course! My favorite part was watching Miles help Penelope find eggs while he could have been getting his own basket filled - . he told me he would help her since they split up junior and senior primary. It's moments like that make me feel like maybe we are doing something right with our kids. :)

I had to buy this shirt!

Nothing says "Happy Easter" like Spiderman.

Fun Times

Our weekly recap- besides the field trip earlier, we still had a lot going on. We had dinner for the missionaries- preparing it always stresses me out and I wonder why I sign up... Especially knowing it will just be me and the kids. But since we have Sisters right now in our ward, it works out. And it's always worth it in the end. The kids love them!

Haircut for Henry! Like a real big boy cut. He looks so much older now! Getting ready for his one year old photos- gulp! Already??

And a celebratory trip to Target afterwards. We are here way too much!

Saturday we took a trip out to Floyd Lamb Park- no playground equipment there (which according to Miles means it's not a real park) but cool grounds and ponds. The kids spent time chasing little bits of cotton fluff floating through the air. It felt like Spring!

And Claire was looking so cute and grown up in her hat- like she is almost ready to go off to college or something! I told her she was looking so mature wearing it and that it made me sad. She took off the hat... Sweet girl. I told her to put it back on since she looked so stylish.

AND... My wedding ring fits again!! I have been working hard on improving my eating habits and have lost 20 lbs recently. This is my favorite non-scale victory ever! Wearing my wedding band combined with my engagement ring is still too tight, but I am so happy to have this beautiful ring back on my finger. Adding the second ring will be my next reward :)

Field Trip with Claire Bear

I got to be a chaperone for Claire's class when they recently went to the local children's museum. When I told her I could go, she said, "YESSS!" Which made me feel good. I don't get much time alone with her these days and I was grateful for the opportunity to go.

I got a good group of kids- including Claire's friend Ximena.

There was a new exhibit all about gross stuff like slime, poop and gas. It was pretty funny once they realized they were surrounded by poop.

Everyone's favorite is the water exhibit- we could go anywhere in the museum on a self-guided tour and we saved the water for last. It was a great day, and I got more hugs from Claire than I've had in a long time. She is growing up so fast!
