51s Baseball Game

The whole family went out to a 51s baseball game and braved the heat for at least 6 innings before we headed home. I think we would go to more games if it wasn't so dang hot. Free hats and jerseys, combined with shaved ice made for a great time! The kids really had fun!

Just Another Day With Henry

Some cute photos of Hank - he is smiling more and more, and cooing, which I love. This first picture captures the state of things so well - my hair is crazy, the bags under my eyes speak to the lack of sleep I've had for the past 12 weeks, but this kiddo is just a happy camper, full of milk and smiling in his sleep!

Pudding Finger Painting

Summer Bingo is underway - earn a bingo by doing the activities on the Bingo chart. Earn a ticket for every Bingo, turn in your tickets for a prize.... Pudding finger paint was one activity this time. I think it took longer to make and chill the pudding than to play with it. :)

Henry Photo Shoot - We Have Cute Kids!

Henry was about about a month and a half old here and he was so sweet while we moved him all around and tried different backdrops and poses.

Kid Quotes

Miles was recently complaining about how stinky Henry's poop is (it's really not that bad). Betty told Miles that all babies poop and he said, "When I was a baby I MAY have tooted. Once."

Penelope's latest phrase is, "I don't love it!" Instead of saying she doesn't like something, it's, "I don't love this outfit Mom." I do prefer this to saying she doesn't like everything.

Penelope cracks me up with how she phrases lots of things - she says things like, "This is yummy in my tum, tum, tummy!" or "Mom, Miles scribble scrabbled on my paper!" The other day she was eating strawberries and I guess she got seeds in her teeth - she said, "These seeds are no good for me Mom."

Miles was putting some clothes away that I had folded and he took a pile of Matt's shirts. He sniffed them for some reason and said, "Eww! These smell like dad's armpit hair!" Which, they didn't, for the record.

Penelope wanted me to take a bite of the cheese that she was snacking on - I don't like eating just plain cheese so I said no thank you. She kept insisting that I eat it and said, "But mom, it will make you happy!"

Swim Lessons

We are taking swim lessons again this summer! Penelope will be in the next session and she is being very patient to wait while Claire and Miles take back to back lessons. Highlight of the lessons so far - going down the big green slide!

Day Trip to Cedar City

I took the kids up to Cedar for the day - just me. Alone. With four kids. The drive up was great - Henry slept almost the entire drive and only started fussing a few miles from Becky's house. The drive home wasn't as uneventful - we pulled over 12 miles from the nearest exit so I could nurse a screaming baby, and then an hour later, pulled off on a lonely exit so Penelope could go to the bathroom in the dirt. A lightning storm followed us home, and I got to see a ton of tumbleweeds, my favorite.

It was 25 degrees cooler in Cedar than in Vegas - so we actually went outside! We ate out, went to the park and found a rope swing (score!), watched a guy practice his tight rope act, ran through sprinklers, and took turns holding Henry. It was a great trip, and with a forecast of 108 degrees all week, I am ready to go back soon!

Henry's Baby Blessing

Henry was given a name and a blessing on June 7th, and he cried the entire time as Matt gave him the blessing. Henry was blessed to be intelligent, obedient, to have a sense of humor, to be married in the temple and to be a strong example of righteousness. I wish I would have taken notes but I was very distracted by the crying...

We were so grateful to have so many friends and family attend the blessing. This picture just makes me happy!

First meetings! Henry got to meet a lot of his family for the first time,  plus a visit from Ali and her family on their way from Utah to California.

Visit from May and Grandpa

My parent's came to visit for Henry's blessing day and we had a great time with them. And the kids were very happy that they brought Porter and Duke (are we EVER going to get a pet??).

Henry's first heart to heart with Grandpa - or his first talk with Hank, as my dad plans to call him.

While they were here, we went to a splash park where some of the kids splashed and some... well, ran around the outside of the water, or played in the puddles. This was one of our last less than scorching days.

Last Day of School!

We survived the school year! Kindergarten and Second Grade are in the books! We had some rocky last few weeks of school - Miles' teacher had to take off the last month of school because of a surgery to remove her thyroid, but her cancer has spread and she will have to get additional treatments. Miles liked his substitute, er, guest teacher.
