Pumpkin Patch Time!

Starting October off right with a trip to Gilcrease Orchards. Only, how did the rest of Las Vegas find out about it too? So crowded this year for early October.

It's just nice to feel a cool breeze and be outside, surrounded by actual green plants and beautiful mountains. Maybe it's Fall after all!

It was 70 degrees so of course Miles needed a sweatshirt...

We went with the Paynes this year- Matt knows Cory from UNLV and they will work together at McGladrey too.

Six Months Old

This little guy isn't so little anymore! Almost 19 lbs and 27 inches! I predict he will be crawling within a month.

My house is so not baby proof these days... The teeny tiny Legos from Miles' sets are so scary to me! Easily swallowed! We will need to be extra vigilant.

Healthy Eating

I don't cook much when I'm pregnant - meat, eggs, all of the smells just gross me out. And it's hard to snap out of that habit once a new baby is in the house and I'm too tired to plan and grocery shop, so we have been eating out way too much for months. Maybe even a year.

I made this lovely dinner this week and it's so nice to cook when you make a plan and have all the ingredients. I need to do this more often! And the kids even ate the salmon- they loved it! So here's to more healthy cooking!

The Face Plant and the Top Tooth

I think these two events must be related somehow... Today at school Miles fell off the monkey bars and did a face plant. His face might be black and blue tomorrow but today he was just sad and wanted to come home. So Matt took him to lunch at Robertos, the cure for many woes.

He has two loose top teeth that need to come out! These are the same teeth that had cavities when he was a toddler. Today after school, everyone in the car started chanting "Pull it! Pull it!" So, he did. I'm guessing the face plant helped things along a bit.

Let the snaggle tooth years begin!

Claire's Baptism Dress

I don't need much persuading to take photos of my kids, so even if taking baptism dress photos before the actual baptism is kind of trendy right now, I love them!

Claire will be baptized in October by Matt, surrounded by family and friends. In our church, we are baptized at age 8 or older, the age of accountability where we can know right from wrong. She is an old soul and seems very ready for this. She told me "this is just the next step to return to Heavenly Father."  Done and done.

I got a little teary eyed when I saw her in this dress, looking so beautiful and grown up. She was sent to us first for a reason - she is a great older sister and an example to her siblings.

I'm Not Ready!

Just some recent pictures of our lazy days of fun before Matt starts his new job in October. Matt is still studying for the CPA exam most of the time, but I can tell we are both realizing that he only has so many days left at home so we are trying to hang out more on the days I work at the house.

I am excited for him, but not so secretly dreading it too. We have been blessed to have very flexible schedules for most of the past 8 years, allowing us to work around doctor's appointments, elementary school schedules, soccer practice, sick kids, church callings and more.  As the new guy, there will be very little time off for Matt, if any, and long work days especially during the busy accounting seasons.

So for now there are breakfast dates, park trips and just hanging out!
