Crawling! or At Least Pretty Dang Close!

So many times I would set Henry down on his playmat and then a few minutes later say, "Now how did you get over there?" He can scoot all over the place, but he has serious army crawl game going on and can get up on his knees and push off with his feet.

Kid Quotes

Miles and Claire were arguing in the back of the van like they do and Miles randomly said, "Besides SHE keeps her underwear in her socks!" He was looking at Claire when he said it but then she said, "How am I supposed to
know what that even means? Besides, you used a PRONOUN. You could have been talking about anyone!" 

Claire on Mismatch Day 

Penelope was stuck up on the kitchen counter and needed help down but she got herself up there so I said she could get herself down. She said, "Miles when you were a little boy and I was a mom, I helped YOU get down from the counter... " Like he owed her his help now for this past favor.

Claire ate part of Penelope's breakfast burrito and she wasn't supposed to. I told her to give P the burrito and Claire said- sorry I ate it. Penelope said, "Thank you for your HONESTY!!" Just like in Mr. Peabody and Sherman- this kid quotes movies and at the right time.  

Penelope has decided that each color of Fruit Loops gives you a special power. I am pretty sure she made these up on her own and she has stayed consistent with the meanings over several weeks. She said, "Yellow makes you calm, red makes you breathe fire and the green ones turn you into a bush. Purple turns you into stone." Matt tried to guess one- Do the blue ones make you turn into "Let it Go (P's name for Elsa)?" She said, "Uh no Dad. THAT is not real. The blue ones turn your sweater blue. And orange ones make you crazy." So now you know. 

Henry @ Seven Months!

Henry is such a happy and smiley baby still. He has a great laugh and it is the kids' main goal to get it out of him.

He is scooting around but not crawling yet, though I often think, "How did you get all the way over there?!"

And he has taken some baby food from Betty but not so much from me. He takes formula bottles easily now and mostly has mixed breast milk and formula when he isn't with me. 

Comparing months 5, 6 and 7: 

Trunk or Treat- FIRST PLACE!

At long last I got my wish- we finally did Harry Potter-themed costumes this year! I bought the costumes that I could find- Harry and Hermione- and made the rest. I think the baby mandrake put us over the top! When visitors at the ward party were asking to take our pictures, we knew we had a winner on our hands :)

Running of the Sheep and Gabe's Birthday!

A quick trip to Cedar City on Nevada Day! It's so nice to get out of Vegas every now and again and see some country sites. Hundreds of sheep being herded to new pastures was pretty amazing to see! 

We went bowling to celebrate Gabe's bday- I think this was the first time my kids had gone. I think one game was enough and then the call of the arcade and air hockey took over. 

Penelope got a strike on her first frame and so she had to learn the strike and spare high fives. 

And another chance to dress up in our costumes- Becky's trunk or treat! 

We were a little cold though- Vegas was at least 20 degrees warmer. Penelope and Henry stayed in the van most of the time. 

Always a fun trip to see the cousins! 

Office Picnic

Celebrating 25 years of PBTK with a fun family picnic! New this year was the bubble soccer - more like just bubble sumo. The kids had a great time and I was happy when it was all cleaned up. I look forward to maybe attending an event with Matt's new job so I don't have to be in charge. :)
