Cousins on the Go!

Cousin time! Becky came down for the day and we had a great time and perfect weather! So happy we live close enough to get together often! 

We didn't stay still for long- bike possee in full effect! Then to lunch, the park and back for more bike riding.

And in classic Claire and McKinley fashion, they created a beauty shop complete with a menu and spa packages as could buy. Penelope was a bit grouchy about her makeup... But I liked my 80s blush and hair brushing session. 

Dad Time

This morning Penelope said in the saddest voice, "Do you know who I miss?... Daddy."

Matt has been working long hours the last two months and busy season for accountants is far from over. And on top of that, he was called as second counselor in the bishopric about a month ago. The kids don't see him much. An impromptu lunch date was in order!

Penelope Quotes

Penelope told my father-on-law Phil something or other and he said, "Well that's a bummer." She said, "We do NOT say that- that's private!" For the record, we say bum instead of butt all the time!

At 3:12 am, Penelope wakes me up and asks me for one more bedtime song. She says it like- One. More. Song. and as she says- "song"- she softly taps my nose. So I go to her room and sing the song since that's the fastest way for me to get back to bed. But then when I try to leave Penelope says in a super serious, deep voice- "I have one more thing to tell you... Frogs eat insects and they are called ... (drumroll please)... flies." Good night kiddo!! 

Her word choices continue to crack me up in little ways during the day- if I say, "Penelope come eat your food." She says, "One moment please."

And "I know!" is Penelope's answer to everything. 

Spirit Week

I thought I was so smart this year to plan ahead for spirit weeks. I got the kids super hero shirts and crazy hair accessories so we would be ready... and we haven't had one crazy hair day or super hero day! I didn't get pics of the whole week but here is Claire on "wear shirts with words" day- I liked the things the other kids wrote on her too. 

And the "never goes out of style" pajama day! Miles wore his batman robe to cafe rio and later to Costco, where the cashier politely asked if I was going to pay for that robe... We bought it at Walmart the day before! 

I Think They Like Each Other...

This made me so happy to see- Miles reaching down to help his sister on the rock wall. 

He is so tender-hearted most of the time. He hates to see the other kids get into trouble and he almost always tries to help them get out of it by picking up the toy they neglected or carrying in their stuff from the car. 

And this girl loves these swings- unless the big kids get it going too high. All alone was just fine for Miss P!

11 Months- Gone in a Flash

Henry is 11 months old! Weight - 21 lbs 8 oz - 75 percentile; 30 inches long- 75 percentile. In to EVERYTHING!

He is cruising around between pieces of furniture and all along the length of the couches. He has a fifth tooth coming in-  almost visible in the top right. His "mama's" and "dada's" are almost starting to seem intentional and his "uh oh" is still going strong as the cutest baby word ever! He can also save hello/goodbye- I need to record him. And I don't think I mentioned this yet but he is consistently sleeping through the night now though colds and teething can still disrupt that pattern occasionally. It's awesome! I feel human again!
