Claire and I have started a new adventure: co-ed youth basketball! I sort of talked her into it after the "I'm not a good fit for basketball" conversation. I think what sealed the deal was when I said I would be the assistant coach. We just started last week in the Under 8 league out in Henderson - there are 3 girls on our team out of 10 total players. Claire knows one of the other girls from her soccer team - and her dad is the coach. Games don't start until January so we have some time to practice, but there is A LOT to learn. I am excited to try coaching again - it's been a long time since my days as assistant JV coach at Centennial High School. I got to be "good cop" and just have fun with the girls - hopefully this experience will be just as fun.

Mom, We Match!
Of course we do, I often plan our Sunday outfits to match :) But Miles noticed and asked to take a picture together. Can't say no to my little guy. He always asks me if he "looks sharp" on Sundays. Definitely!

All I Want for Christmas...
Update: She lost the other front tooth, so now she really has to sing the Christmas song for me!
Claire lost her front tooth this week - we took our family pictures just in the nick of time! I really wanted at least one more picture of her with her baby teeth. Her smile looks so different already, but just wait til that adult-sized tooth comes in. You can already see it growing, and her other front tooth is loose too. Wonder if she will get my huge teeth or Matt's nice normal-sized teeth...
The tooth fairy was a no-show on the first night - apparently if you lose your tooth after 8 pm, it's not enough warning time for her to get to your house that same night. Some people like 24 hours notice, I guess. So... she came the second night and left this note:
Claire is a good sport! And she got a few extra dollars for patiently waiting one extra day, so it was a win-win.

Ward Christmas Party
My favorite performance of the night was from the children - all the different organizations within the church had to do a skit or song). I miss being in the Primary and hearing their songs every Sunday. Here is the video - don't mind Miles picking his nose a few times... sheesh.

New Family Photos
I think these turned out really cute, despite the fact that I self-destructed on my way to reaching my goal of being comfortable, even willing, to be in our family photos this year. Halloween through Thanksgiving is a blur of treats... Despite all that, mission accomplished.

Penelope's 18 Month Stats
We had annual check ups for Miles and Claire, plus an 18-month well check for Penelope. Here are the latest stats for the babe:
Height: 32.5 inches - 67th percentile
Weight: 24.4 lbs - 46th percentile
Head: 47.75 cm - 78th percentile
She is a skinny little thing lately, and a picky eater with an up and down appetite. I can fit her in 12 month leggings but she needs an 18 month shirt, or a 2T pair of pajamas. A bit of progress on the talking, but not much. Pediatrician isn't worried since she does mimic sounds, is showing improvement with her language skills, and she can obviously understand us and do what we ask her to do. But it is frustrating when she is just grunting and pointing and you aren't always sure what she wants.

Mountains Edge Hike
We conquered "the mountain" and got a great view of the Vegas skyline the morning after Thanksgiving. No Black Friday for us this year. Just Don't Get On the Scale Monday is in the works... :)
