When you don't have a backyard...

... you improvise with fun things for kids to play with like this cool water and sand play table for Claire that we put on our front porch. So far she likes to drink the water and dump out the sand, but I figure getting dirty is all part of the fun. It did entertain her for about 45 minutes at a time, so I think she likes it.

We have that same table! Although I have no clue where most of the little pieces are. That's what happens when you DO have a backyard. Things disappear and never resurface.

My kids promptly dumped the sand into the water, then dumped the entire thing over, leaving a sandy, wet mess in the grass. But they were having a ball. I mostly fill it with water and just let the little ones splash in it. McQueen would climb up into it as soon as he could reach.

You have to be gentle with the umbrella. It's pretty weak, and our fabric detatched at the top fairly soon. But that could be the workings of a herd of children, too.

Come see us this summer when it gets too hot down in Vegas!! Claire will feel right at home with our twinner sand table.;)

You are so brave for getting that. I've seen wonderful looking sand tables out of the corner of my eye and thought - no, that's too messy. So I commend you. But, we do have a backyard, and Ryan scoops and makes piles of dirt and splashes in the plant water so I guess we kind of have that going on already. Miss you!

I love it, I wanted to get it, but Danny insisted he can make a sand box for McKinley. That is what he says about everything, "I can make that!" I held him to this one though. I still would almost rather have that though because our sand box didn't weather the winter very well, and now I have to dig thousands of pine needles out of it. I have to cover it after every time she plays in it. Pain! That sand box you can put away when ever you want. Love it.

I've been contemplating getting something like that. Nathan loves sand and water, but I wondered how much he would play with it. He is entertained by all the rocks in our "yard" so well right now. I have a feeling we'll be spending more time at home this spring and summer and he'll need something more like that to play with. We'll have to come check yours out sometime.

What a great idea! Also, a nice, natural exfoliant to keep hands soft! :) Good job!
