MeMa's Birthday

This year we went to BJ's for Betty's birthday - a decent gluten-free menu is getting easier find, I've noticed. As for the taste of the food, I will leave that to Betty to comment.

Waiting for BJ's - aka burn off some energy before we eat so adults can enjoy their meal

Everyone waiting for aforementioned delicious pizza - we tried the Mediterranean this time and it was really good

Homemade gluten-free pizookies instead of b-day cake

Playing in the backyard with Aunt J - driving home, Claire said, "Mom, I really want a backyard..." Me too Claire. But other city kids survive without a yard, right? Someday.

Please bring the kids to our backyard any time! Nobody here has the energy to run around with Noah, so let's put your kids to work! (And we can play Dutch Blitz in the air conditioned house and just listen for the occassional scream.)

What is BJ's? If they've got gluten free, we need them. Gluten free is not as easy to find down in the south. I'd like the recipe for whatever they used as her b-day cake, please.

And just today, Bob and I had a conversation about how grateful we are that the kids have a backyard. You're lack of one now will only make you appreciate it more when the time comes that you get one.
