A photo recap of Claire's birthday party at the Hillers - I made the cake, nothing fancy but it turned out pretty cute. Claire did eat the cake - but she was dainty about it, just picking up small pieces with her fingers - she got a little bit messy, but nothing like what we had hoped for, given that this was her first full fledged sugary treat.
She was very spoiled though- we got some great presents from everyone including some really fun toys that actually make noise! And we are keeping the batteries in this time, don't worry.

Happy birthday Claire!!!
please post how you made that cake Shannon. It is awesome!
The cake was super easy - I bought a pan that has two sides, like a bundt pan kind of... one half is the bottom of the cupcake and the other is the top half - looks like a swirled frosting top. Then you just put them together and frost. I got the pan at Michaels in the cake decorating section, but I have also seen it online at Target. It's about $35 which is why I used my Michael's 50% off coupon instead of buying at Target :)
The cake not only looked adorable, but it tasted sooooooooo good!
The great cupcake looks great!! And I'm sure it was yummy too!
what an awesome looking cake, shan!
Happy B-day, Claire Bear. She looked astounded by the cake. "Mom can make cakes? Holy cow."
She's getting bigger and cuter all the time!
